engine build estimate

I have a brand new 22r block and everything I need to build it and put it in the truck. If I were to get shop to build it, take old motor out and put in new one what would be a round about guess on labor cost?

Labor rates vary on just where you are. If you can find someone that will do the job.

How much head work needs to be done?

Does the block need to be cleaned up if it has been stored since 1995

Just how did you get a brand new 22R block??

How do you know if you have the correct parts??

I would think a ball park price might be around $2000.00 but it could be much higher.

Then you might find someone that works real cheap

I just recently built a 22re and I have about $300 in parts and another $300 in machine work. I had a head so that was not a cost for me. If I had to replace the head, that would be another $250ish. I have bought rebuilt motors for $1100.

As far as installing a motor in my area, depending on who does it, I would say $500 and up would be a good starting point.
