It's been a while since I stopped in at the glass shop, but I think I printed your pics or some similar ones to show them my desired results. I assume all universals are not created equal...

windshield gasket rubber
[QUOTE=slacker;52315982]just to let people know ... we have these as well for the 2nd gen .. http://www.toyotafiberglass.com

they fit perfect

Were you saying you have the windshield gasket rubber for 2nd gen 4 runners? If so, what is the cost for a 1994 4runner windshield gasket?
- could you estimate shipping to Greenville, SC 29611 USA?
that's the kind I've been looking for to replace my current windshield trim (which looks bad)-
thank you.

So I took a gamble on a overseas manufacture and it appears to have paid off. I received what appears to be a factory Toyota gasket. I cant comment on the fit as I just received it today. The quality looks to be top notch. They are expensive for single orders, but if there are 5 people that want to get one and can get them for $100 shipped anywhere in the us. PM me if your interested.

I'm in the process of getting this rubber gasket installed on my 1st gen 4runner right now. The shop just called and said that there's a metal flange spot welded to the front of the dash that is in the way of installing the gasket. They want to know if I'm willing to cut it off. I have not heard of this in other threads on this topic. Does anyone else had this come up?

If you really want gasket install, I believe Toyota Fiberglas would know more about it. http://www.toyotafiberglass.com/
If you want Urethane adhesive install, ask windshield shop to use Sika Urethane (here)
Either way you go, you would need to clean all the way to bare metal, prime and paint. Magnet18 on Yotatech, Adventure Copan on t4R and I used POR-15. Please see our separate posts on that.

I'm aware this is late, but there is no metal flange
I hope they didn't cut the defrost surround

There are multiple users who had urethaned windshields, and replace it with a gasket using the same glass

Gasketed windshields are the SAME size as glued-in windshields. Bodies are also the same - there is no extra flange. Installing it is similar to a VW Bug or MK1. See my repair and install from posts #123-134.
