I just called my local auto glass shop here in Morgan Hill CA They quoted me for installation only and universal molding. $55.00! Im taking it out myself so I can check all the rusted areas and clean it up.

When I get the time to remove the window and prep the area. I will probably drive it to the shop (down the back roads) and I will try to hang out with the guy and see if I can spy any part numbers or manufacture names.

Did you get that windshield in? Did it work ok with the Aussie gasket? How does it look?

Update, I washed my truck, windshield leaked, drip drip, upper passenger side. The installer is coming today to remove the inner upper plastic molding and apply more goop. He remembered my rust from a year ago.

I got the part number, but the order form ask for model number of the truck and build date, since ours are different model numbers than the Aussies, I didn't know which to use.

I contacted the company, heard back from them last night and they are on back order, so my name has been added to the list.

The clips that hold the trim in, have to be set in the adhesive when the window is installed thats why most window shops want you to buy a new one. 4crawlers looks good. The strip on top and new clips were 80 bucks from toyota and 200 for speedy glass to put mine in. No leaks and alls well.

my windshield is leaking too and I hate the factory trim and cannot see spending the coin to replace it. I really like the rubber gasket solution from australia (see post#56 on page 3).

So I considered ordering one. i talked to my local glass replacement people and they wont do it unless they provide all the parts. so I say, screw it, how hard could this be? has anyone done this by themselves?

What is involved with the install? I have never replaced a windshield, but I assume that even though its a gasket that it should be glued in somehow.

Bringing this thread back from the dead again... I've been doing research. For those interested, part number for 20mm is FT2030 and the 26mm is FT2630. Dealers who sell it are very hard to come by though, I haven't found anywhere online to buy them.

Has anyone else had a windshield installed with the universal rubber molding? I'm trying to get safelite to install like it was done for xX88yota4x4Xx. They are saying it's probably 26mm wide trim which they don't stock. I did show them the pictures from this thread.

The pictures look more like 20mm to me, and I want to go as narrow as possible to minimize future puckering at the corners.

Question is, was it 20mm wide molding, or 26mm? My truck doesn't have a windshield in it right now, so I can't just measure the gap.
