Electrical ignition advice needed 22re

My truck started missing every so often and the problem started to get worse until the check engine light came on. The codes read 13, 14 and 21. I have had a bad ground on the ignitor before so I cleaned off the connection to the body and reset the codes. This did not stop the problem and the light came on again with a 13 (ignition). I changed the plugs, wires (NGK) and rotor and dist. cap. The problem persists. I exchanged the distributer body with another working one and the missing is still happening. Does anyone have any suggestions to the source of this problem on a 1991 PU 22re? I am thinking it may be a ground problem somewhere. The problems happens when I have tourque on the engine. But it starts and idles fine.

I think code 13 is no signal to ecm after 1500 rpm, code 21 is 02 sensor, and i think code 14 it TPS, im going from memory but i think that`s right. I would check the TPS, some times when they go bad they can cause more than one code, they can cause your truck to run bad, and ive even seen a bad TPS keep the engine from starting.

Tps

Thanks, I will look into testing the Throttle Position Sensor.

I know it is an electric module on the throttle body. But not much else. Any test suggestions would be appreciated.

Check out 4crawlers web site, he has a page that shows you how to adjust the TPS.

TPS... I don't know

Not sure if it is the TPS. Why? Because the miss is not necessarily at the same throttle position. I cleaned out the throttle body with Carb cleaner and I have not had the miss happen yet. This is a hard problem to solve because it is intermittent and does not happen every time I drive it. I am going to spray it out once again because it was pretty guncked up.
