egr valve no worky?
Ok i took off the hose that goes to the top of the egr valve and there is no suction. Is this normal or no. I thought there was suppose to be vacuum on that hose. Can someone clarify this for me.

It should open the pintle valve/diaphragm. If not, it's probably just stuck and needs cleaning. The vac port may be clogged, as well.

Did you just check it at idle or while reving the RPMs up a lil bit. I don't think it has a vaccum at idle... I believe it's suppose to kick in at some RPMs and open the EGR valve a little...
correct me if I'm wrong N E one...

i followed the hose i pulled, back to the metal hose that runs along valve cover then around to the thermastat housing .. i dont know what sensor that i pulled it from but is this the normal routing of this hose . i unpluged there as still no vac.

Oh...I misunderstood.
The hose goes to the bimetal vacuum valve. The vacuum valve opens once the motor has warmed and there is certain amount of load on the engine.
Here's a tech article explaining how it works.

Hmmmm......might be different than what I'm familiar with. Maybe someone would be kind enough to post some pics.
I'll see if I can locate some. I think I know where some may be.
