EFI Relay over heats

The EFI over heats lately any one have an idea why?
I replaced the 2 in the engine wall yet the main on the inside is a dealer part and different from the other 2 and I don't want to pay the price they want. Any ideas?

Usually 1 of 3 things causing it to overheat.

1. Too much current being pulled through it's contacts.

2. Contacts dirty, increasing resistance and that added resistance times the normal current = too much heat

3. Relay coil is damaged and causing it to pull too much current and that is overheating it. FSM typically lists resistance tests for each relay.

That relay supplies power on to the fuel pump (via the CO relay):

What if the main relay (interior) is bad will that cause the other one to pull more current?

Well, you need to first determine what is the cause of the overheating. Anything down stream from the overheating relay could be causing too much current to flow, like a partial short or some other sort of overload. Yes, it might be another relay or it may be something that any of the relays feed current to. Best bet would be to measure how much current is being pulled through the EFI relay and then see if that is reasonable or not and start from there.
