ECU Convertion?

Is it easy to convert my 87's obd1 to an obd2 from a later year?

I have OBDII in my 93 truck. But I wouldn't say its simple. Swap out the engine, engine harness and ECU with one from a 97 or up and convert the body harness to mate up to the new engine harness and ECU. Then install the OBDII plug somewhere:

Yeah, only way I know of. What you want to do is like wanting to convert a Pentium III to a Pentium IV. Could it be done? I guess a Toyota computer engineer could figure it out. 1996 or 97 was the start of OBDII.

Let me rephrase my statement

Can you swap out a obd1 and replace it with a (what year does obd2 come out) 1992?+ ECU

And wasn't the last year for the 22R 94? So you're looking 2RZ, or 5VZ for OBDII?

What exactly about OBDII is the main attraction for you? I mean I know its nice but you sound like you just can't live without it now for some reason
