No man.....that's the temp guage sending unit.
The ECT sensor is on the front of the block under the top rad hose....right next to the start injector switch. One has a brown connector and the other green. You are looking for the green one....if it's OEM. In any case, it's to the right of the injector switch.

Why do you need to know this? With a volt meter, you could easily determine which one is the ground and which is the signal, but I believe it's the brown one...if you're looking at the right sensor.

yep, brown is the ground, i got it all sorted out now (without a volt meter lol), thanks guys
i needed to know because im wiring up my version of the ECT mod, but i prefer to splice it in at the sensor end of the wire as to leave my wiring harness intact back to the ECU, it makes it easier to put it back to stock if i ever need to
anywho, its all wired up now, and works quite well

Actually, that's not where the t-stat sending unit is either. The sending unit is on the intake side of the engine between the #3 and #4 manifolds (intake side/passenger side). To the left of the valve cover and it has a blue connector attached to the top of it. The sender is not on the same housing as the t-stat..not even close.

I thought that's the one he was referring to...so yeah that makes sense. So, the coolant temp sensor is the green one under the t-stat housing...what's the one next to it to the left? Is that the cold start time switch?

I do have the one with blue connector....although, I believe it to be between #2 and #3...and have never know what it was or for. I suppose some identification research is in order...
