I need to replace my conversion's soon; one of them's leaking a little...

HA HA :-) Well the good news is that it really doesn't rain much in Ellensburg.
Its funny I had an 86 Toyota back in the early 90's but after years of driving newer Chevy's its amazing what you forget and how crapy those headlights were.

Sounds good, I'm in for a set. I'll probably order them with the 100w/55w upgrade.
Btw, it looks like he'll accept offers at $22 + shipping. We'll see. edit. He countered at 23.50 and I tried to tell him that I'd do $22 and upgrade and ebay told me I had made too many offers on it and had to pay the buy it now price. I have no idea if he would have taken it.

I would make an offer he charged $15 for S&H which I thought was a little high. I think the upgraded bulbs would be even better. I plan on ordering a new wiring harness then I will go for upgrading the lights.
Also I will try and get some pics tonight. I need to "borrow the camera from work" I got some befores with that camera so I want to use the same camera to show how much better they really are!

I just ordered them.
When I get them installed I will post a pic of the beam at night in the driving Pacific northwest rain. My stock lights were so old and tired I could barely drive up the road at night. Anything has got to be better than 20yr old dog yellow stock lights! Thanks for the thread!

Don't quote me on needing to upgrade the harness but I think you would be able to run them on the stock harness but to take full advantage of the upgraded lights a new harness would be needed.
And trust me with the stock lights and the stock harness you will be able to see very well! Last night it rained and I LOVED the new lights. you could see more then 5ft in front of the truck and I don't even have them aimed the best yet!

The kit from ebay was $40.94 shipped but it looks like he will take offers so you could get it for less, it will be a little more if you go for the upgrade lights
The wiring harness from 4crawler is $46.00 shipped (not needed for the 60/55w bulbs but a highly recommend option for anything higher.

I read the thing on 4 crawler, it sounds kind of complicated. But to me anything with wires sounds complicated. I kind of go cross eyed. Who has done the wire conversion, how was it as far as install?

It was 40.95 shipped like Blxt said above. I didn't get the upgrade. Maybe later on.
I will post a few pics when I get em in.

I made a counter offer, IF I get it I'll do the upgrade 100/90 white lights, then if we all post up the pictures we can compare. side note, I have looked around, I cant figure out how to post up the big pictures. i only know how to do the little thumb nail pictures you have to click on.

You don't really need to upgrade your harness if the factory unit is in good shape. Take the voltage at the battery (engine running) then voltage at the light outputs.. If you lose 1 or less volts, you are in good shape.
I was losing about 1.1 volts, I have been running the 80/100w hella bulbs with no issues ( i even have full power running lights).

To take the voltage at the light, you attach the voltmeter in parallel to the light, right?

You touch the prongs with your volt meter. Just slip the connection out so the prongs are just showing (still inside the light though). Then you can get your reading...
Its defantly a tight fit.

After reading a few wiring diagrams I decided to upgrade to the 100 55W white. According to what I read there should be no problem with the stock harness like jay351 is saying.
We shall see...

I ordered a set too after seeing this thread, I have been saving for some hellas to replace the crappy plastic H4 housings that came with the truck. $40 vs $140 is quite the deal!

OK I just got mine ordered. I did the offer thing and got him to $23.51. I also upgraded to the 55/100w white bulbs. I wanted the 90/100, but I was afraid i might blind on coming traffic.

These lenses have a very low e-code cutoff, think HID style. But they are not as lame as HID's
As long as they are aimed right, you could run 100w bulbs all night long without blinding anyone.
