E-locker full axle swap?
Hi guys,
I've recently come across a cheap e-locker third member locally and I think I'm going to pull the trigger on it. After talking to the seller he said he'd give me the whole axle because he doesn't have time to split them for the same price.
I've tried looking for threads about this exact thing and I think I know the answer but I want to be totally sure.
I'm thinking I'm going to swap the whole axle over and take advantage of the extra 2" width.
So here's my question, will this 96 4runner v6 elocker axle fit my 1992 22re pickup? Will I have to move the shock mounts? Will the difference in spline count matter if I'm taking the whole axle? Should the driveshaft mate up easily?
I'm already running 1.5" spacers all around so taking them off the back I should have the same stance front and back.
If this has already been answered if someone could link me it would be great, if not I appreciate any advice.
Thanks Ryan

Same spline count, all 8" diffs are 30 spline. So that 3rd will drop into your existing housing with little work.
As stated above, youll have to remove all the coil and link mounts from the 4runner axle and weld on some spring perches and shock mounts. cut/grind/weld. 2nd gen 4runners and up are coil spring/4link with a panhard bar in the rear, not leaf springs.

I guess swapping the third is probably easier, at least if I screw it up I can always slap it back together and do the whole axle.
Sweet truck rattle, you hit the slopes in vermont?
Thanks for the info guys
