dumb truck. if only i didnt love it. starting problem

so recently my truck has seemed to not want to start up for me. its got everything startin up, but its not quite catching. it gets rly close, almost like its starting and fading, but it doesnt completely catch. doesnt happen all the time, only every once in a while, and usually i can get it to catch after a while. today im startin it up and it doesnt catch, so i keep tryin and touch the gas to try and catch it, and after a couple of trys i start smelling gas. it caught eventually, but it took a while.

any suggestions as to what i could do to fix it up?

lol I had the same problem with my truck. We took the starter to autozone and they tested it and said it was good, but then we got it back and I put it on, still the same thing. Took it back for a re-test and it was bad. I think it just didn't have the muscle to turn the flywheel, because it would click once every time you'd turn the key. But first check connections and all that good stuff.

Well my dad bought a re-built one not sure about cost, just make sure you bring the old one in cause if you don't they charge you more money.

If the starter is turning the engine over, it might be a fuel issue. Quick check for that is the fuel jump test jumper:

I'm pretty sure. Just keep all your hardware and make sure it is the starter before replacing. You don't want them to send away a good starter, that's for sure.
