Dual shackles in the rear?
when i bought my 87 runner the rear end was sagging, old springs ya know. so i bought a set of lift shackles and an add-a-leaf and put them in place. it made the ride 10 times better and sat the rear end back up where it should be. but now im thinking about putting my factory shackles in for a dual shackle set up hoping for better flex in the rear-end. i know other people have done/tried this, but what do you think? are the stock shackles okay to do this with or should i get a different set? or abandon the idea all together?

A little more involved in a double shackle setup. Here is what I did with mine:
Double shackle parts, upper shackle to the right, it has a spring eye bushing on one end to accomodate the lower shackle (to the left):
Set up for the wider Orbit Eye springs:
I added a bolt to lock the upper shackle to the frame:
Since installing them, I have yet to unbolt the upper shackle. May do so once I get the shocks sorted out in back and get a traction bar of sorts installed as axle wrap is an issue with the double shackles.
