driveline vibration

So i have a bone stock 92 4runner 3.slow 5speed 4wheel drive just clicked 220,800miles on it this week and about a week ago i noticed a slight vibration when accelerating, now its vibrating alot more when i accelrate and is really bad when decelerating, i dont think its happening at cruising speeds. i also recently learned the previous owner wasnt exactly "easy" on it. I know its not imbalanced wheels, warped rotors or a bad steering stabilizer. I feel nothing in the steering wheel, nothing when i hit the brakes, just when i accel and decel its a very noticable shudder, it makes my rearview go blury from shaking. I have a feeling its a carrier bearing or u-joint, thoughts?

Remove the rear driveshaft and put it in 4 wheel drive and drive it around a little. That will either confirm or rule that out. It sounds more like something in your differential, but checking the driveshaft like that is easy and free.

yup, as suspected, there is quite a bit of play in the front, a tiny bit of play on the rear, guess ill just replace them both to be on the safe side.

do you just grab the driveshaft with your hand and push / pull it to check, or do you use a prybar or something?

My 94 truck has a vibration from 15-20 mph regardless of gear / motor rpm etc..
it has been getting worse recently and it is time to track it down.
