drifting issue after seized caliper

heres the issue.

my hilux was pulling right.. seen a piston was seized on the caliper so i put a used one i had with new pads..

it was pulling right pretty much all the time..

NOW sometimes it will drive straight and sometimes there is a very slight drift right again... sometimes it happens under braking.. but sometimes she stops fine..

i jacked up the wheel and there was a little play.. so i tighten the wheel bearing as it was a little bit loose.. now there is no play..

also sometimes there is a slight squeel/grind which im pretty sure is the wheel bearing not the caliper.. it is very faint

would a idler arm or tie rods cause this??
can a truck just go out of alignment without hitting something??

Red face

A low tire can cause this.

You repacked the wheel bearing and something is grinding???

Are your tie rod ends loose or the idler arm is it loose???

there is a specific torque setting for the wheel bearings it's like 21 ft lbs or something but you can't just go in tighten the and expect them to be fine. Also if you just did the one side with a used caliper and pads then yeah it's gonna pull to that side due to the fact of uneven wear on both sides right. Go back, repack, and put new pads in both sides and start from there. that's just the first things that jump out at me but is how i would tackle the situation.

yeah i did do both sides..
i also have a brand new caliper and pads, cause i though the new one might be grabbing..

ive always just tightened the wheel bearings till the wheel was tight then backed off a bit.

no the idler arm or tierod rends dont seem sloppy...

the sound sounds like when your brake pad warning are screeching just a bit..

with the wheel off the ground i can still hear the noise sometimes its not always there.
my next move was replace the caliper and pads again and go from there

manual hubs or automatic? Asking because if they are manual and that side is not releasing it could cause your drag as well. If the bearings are bad it will drag on that side so that might just be your culprit.

UPDATE.

new caliper and pads and the noise stopped..
but i noticed my hub is unlocked but the cv axle spins..

im pretty sure on my old 4runner the axles didnt turn...

i did paint them.and i noticed i cant get it to lock.
So tonight im gonna check the other side see if the axle spins..

and tear apart that hub sand any surfaces with paint and clean and rebuild..

ok so new caliper and pads and the wheel bearings are fine..

but i still get a pull especially when braking to right side..

the pull is also only sometimes when driving...

tire pressure is ok.. i couldnt notice any movment in the idler arm asi had a friend turn the wheel but i guess ill put it up on stands this weekend and give everything a good pull...
if not i guess alignment shop... just weird cause i dont remember hitting any big pot holes or anything

If it's pulling right on and off, maybe it's just the varying crown of the road you happen to be on at that moment. If it were pulling left, different story, but a certain amount of pull to the right is normal.

naw its not the crown of the road..
now i notice it pulls more when i brake and if i let go of the steering wheel it moves like a quarter or eith a turn sometimes but if i get out the wheels actually arnt turned..
i still think something in the steering is worn out .. the back brakes are good

gonna pull it in the garage tommorow ill snap some pics while im at it since its been a while
