Door Parts

Dose anyone know where I can get pin's and bushings for the door?
I have looked everywhere and can't find them.

Sorry no, I don't but admittedly I haven't looked.
This subject should remind everyone to grease/lube their hinges because a dry door hinge IS A BAD BAD THING!

Over several years of driving old muscle cars and 70's vehicles I encountered tons of dry and sagging hinges.
I've found an incredibly small amount of products that will lube hinges and stay put for long periods of time.

Bel-Ray "Super Clean" Chain lube works amazingly well for this purpose as well as many other sticking metal to metal contact areas.
One of it's benefits is that once dry it won't drip or wash off, you have to physically remove it. It's downfall is it's white color.
It's available at most motorcycle shops in 175 and 400Ml sizes and is a little on the expensive side.

Maybe you can still get them through the dealer or have them made

I have thought about stoping by the parts store and see if I can get the universal kit and see what I can do with that.

$47.99 per door on eBay for 84-93 Toyotas. Some enterprising individual has figured it out. Someone needs to get a set and post the pin and bushing sizes for the rest of us. Apologies to the enterprising individual if he's a member here and I just ruined his business. There are hinges elsewhere on eBay.

Somewhere there is a thread on here where the person used a hinge kit for a Nissan. Seems they had to drill the hole a little bigger in the hinge and drove in new bushings. If I recall right a kit for a Nissan is less then $10 at the local parts store. I bought a kit and found a camper that had excellent hinges and never got around to trying the Nissan kit.

I thought that I could just do the pin and bushing and call it a day. But after looking around it looks like I'll have to buy the whole hinge.

Lube

To continue the lube tangent, I bought some thread cutting oil in a propellant can with a foamy sticky additive and I noticed how well it coats my drill press table and vise quite well and doesn't dissipate quickly. This thread gave me the idea to try it on hinges, etc.
