Does this sound right!????
i just ordered new black rock wheels from polyperformance and there being custom made
i've got a 93 standard yota pick up
wheels=6x5.5 +15X8 rim+4.75 backspacing
i would hate to get "custom" made wheels and have them not fit

wow you guys are tards. the lower the number the more the wheels stick out, higher number equals tires tucked in more. presonaly i would have gone with 3" bs

The op never mentioned lift or size tire, so it's all a crap shoot for the armchair qb's trying to decide what size tire is right.
So now he only gets preference and OPINION.
And I hope you were talking to the other tards, and not this tard

He could go with a 3" backspacing but that would be alot of stress on wheel bearings.
4" is an appropriate mix. But 4.75 on custom made wheels ? That seems kind of ratarded.

high backspace = a flat faced, OEM looking wheel. low backspace = a "deep dish" wheel.
why would you be buying custom made wheels when you are not yet familiar with backspacing? usually custom BS is to address a vehicle specific tire installation challenge.
wheels come prefab in the usual BS. my 15x8s are 4" BS. they stick out just a little past the stock fender lip. 4.75" would have put the tire just inside the lip. remember that OEM is a 15x7 with 4.75" BS, so that would move the tire even more inside the lip, as OEM usually is.
this last piece should tip you off that BS is relative to wheel width. A 4.75" BS on a 7" rim makes a flat face, stock rim. A 4.75" BS on a 10" wheel (like for 12.5" tires) still puts more than 5" of the tire on the OUTWARD side of the centerline of the hub. so it is deep dish.
