Does anybody else hate being under their 4runner on JAck stands
Ill be honest i dont like to be under my car while its on jack stands (just 2) in front im scared and i dont want it too fall
i just got 2 more jacks to have no tires on the ground anybody have any tips so i can feel more safe when under my vehicle

How big are your stands? If you have the right sized stands and you're on level ground, and the stands are secured in the right points you don't have anything to worry about.
Otherwise, blocks work really well. Or, some people put their tire under the wheels. I find them to get in the way like that, though.
Maybe try wearing body armor?

I usually will place the tires I have removed under the truck. So if for some reason it should come off the jacks, it has something to fall on to. Hopefully leaving some room for me to get out.

Far safer than propping it up on 2 wheels with 2x4's like some people do...
Throw some wheel chocks in front and behind one of the tires contacting the ground (if any) and put an extra set of jack stands under the frame rails if your nervous. I wouldn't worry too much cause sometimes I lay under mine with just the jack under the truck (only if I am looking under real quick) Normally I work on my truck when all four tires are touching cause I'm small enough to fit under it, and the truck sits high enough also. Shoot, invest in some steel ramps for jobs not requireing the wheels to be taken off.

yeah also jack the truck up from the rear under the middle of the axle with the front wheel choked.. then place both under then do the front.. thats the quickest easiest way on level ground..
good thing about 4runners is even me a pretty big dude can fit underneath without jacking it up to do some stuff!
please be safe alyways use those jack stands.. and i suggest having 2 floor jacks and some bottle jacks... some tasks just need alot jacks and stands

Make sure your jack stands are level and on the frame securely. I get under a chevy tahoe and never worry because the jack stands are rated to hold much more and I take my time placing them on the frame. Go slow and make sure the jacks are on the frame securely. Once your jacked, push on the truck as hard as you can if it makes you feel better. It shouldn't move. And yes use 4 jack stands.

working on suspension usually requires going under the truck, without wheels while on jackstands....
If you get stands strong enough you have nothing to worry about. Nice knowing one of my stands can support more then the truck weighs.

Thats my thinking. I also have a pair of 3 ton stands for light duty but my motto is "go big or go home" and when safety is concerned, i would rather error on the side of caution.

I like my 4R. It's easy to work underneath without having to do any lifting. My MR2 is an entirely different story. It won't go up those drive-on ramps without help (not enough room).

I like to live dangerously so I just jack up my 4runner with a 2ton floor jack under the crossmember and take all the wheels off to do what i need to do. jack stands are overrated. oh yeah no safety glasses either
That's just not funny....
