It wouldn't hurt, save up for OEM ones from toyota though. I buy the cheap ones from kragen to get me by, but honestly it's worth the money to get ones you know that'll last a long time.
Edit: (My bad didn't even answer your question) To find out you have to raise the tires off the ground. Get a long bar or crowbar or something. Then move the tire up and down to test balljoints, if it moves, your balljoints may be worn and needs replaced. Then to test tie rods, try to turn the tire by hand, if it moves easily back and forth the tie rods may be worn and needs replaced.
I think that's how you do it, should say in the FSM.

While you were under there on both sides you had easy access to grease them up. Looks like the tie rod could use it.
Visual inspection they look fine.
Left and right movement for tie rod, up and down for ball joints. If the bearings are bad there could be movement as well. Just pinpoint it after if you have any movement.
