Do all timing belts have timing marks?
I have a 94 V6 3VZE engine. About to buy a timing belt kit from eBay. It is a Cloyes. I am wondering if all timing belts made for my truck will have RCAM and LCAM mark on the belt to assist me in lining it up. I understand Bando has the marks, but I have never heard of Cloyes. Silly question, but I really dont know and I tried searching. I have changed two timing belts for Hondas, but never for my 4Runner.
By the way, I will be making my first homemade 2X4 crankshaft bolt remover.
thanks all

The marks are nice, but I have used belts without them. Just need to make sure the cam sprockets and crank markings are all aligned correctly.
What is a "2x4 crankshaft bolt remover"? Sounds a bit spooky.
If that bolt is stubborn, just undo the coil wire so the motor can't actually start. Put a socket and then breaker bar on the bolt, and allow the handle of the bar to set on the frame. The engine will rotate CW, and the bolt will go CCW.
A quick bump of the starter and that bolt will be free.... and no 2x4's were used in the process.

There are several threads on here with details about tearing down the 3vze engine, not the least of which are Bumpin' Yota, justinking061030, and mine. Search and ye shall find! Learn all you can BEFORE you tear it apart, learn from all our mistakes!

i just put my new timing belt on today, it is a belt from a local Toyota dealer and it didn't have any marks. like everyone else said, the marks are not important, the marks on the backing plate and crank are what matter.
