Got around to swapping my 1988 DLX gauge cluster 22Re out of the 4runner and replacing it with a1989 3.slow cluster SR5. Installed a 22RE tach from another banged up 22RE cluster with a bad ribbon in the 3.0 cluster but the tach does not read correctly. Initially when I first installed the tach it when the key was switched on it would read 2500 rpm. When I cranked it it read 3400 at idle. Now engine is screaming at a 3000 rpm reading so I believe it incorrect. Any ideas on how to adjust this tach. I took the board from the needle mechanism from 22RE and swapeed it into the 3.0 needle. Removed needle and reinstalled at zero when ignition on but not started and this made it read correct at idle.
