Digital dash.....fuel gauge

So my fuel gauge hasn't worked since I finished my 4.3 swap. I figured it was a wire got accidentally damaged/disconnected in the swap.

Well, I looked into it yesterday, and it appears that I have continuity between both signal wires and the gauge cluster (although the only diagrams I have are for analog gauges....so it's mediocre at best).

Next step is to test the actual sender. Anyone know if the sender is different between the digital and analog cluster? i.e., if the resistance listed for the analog gauge would still be relevant for the digital one.

The sender for the digital cluster is a three wire voltage divider, power, ground and data all come from the cluster. There is test proceedures in the manual for the digital cluster. You can also dig back a page or two here and there is another thread with the diagrams for both, I don't recall the title something like "digital to analog conversion".

Testing the sender you'll have three different resistance values, one from power to ground, another from power to "fuel level" and another from ground to "fuel level". Unless of course you have a half tank. Anyways it's properly covered in the manual.

Good luck!
