The big one for me is the SR5 has the gauge with the tachometer, and the clinometer setup. Base and DLX, not sure but I imagine chrome is involved somewhere.

Not necessarily true. My 93 SR5 doesn't have power windows and no sunroof. My friends old 92 SR5 also didn't have power windows, but it did have a sunroof.

I do know that base and DLX models have the little vent windows in the doors, while the SR5 models don't.

SR5 models had tachometers, base and DLX models didn't.

SR5 models have buckets and a center console, while base and DLX models have bench seats with no console.

SR5 models have ashtrays built into the inside door handle and little map pockets (what I call them) on the bottom of the door panel, while the base and DLX models don't have those.

In terms of chrome, I believe DLX and SR5 models had chrome trim, while base models have black trim.

SR5 models also had different stripe packages than base and DLX models. The most obvious difference is on the tailgate. The base and DLX models had just TOYOTA centered on the tailgate, while the SR5 had the words TOYOTA in the lower left corner or upper right with some sort of stripe. From 1989-1991 the TOYOTA was in the upper right corner. From 1992-1995, it was in the lower left corner. Also on the tailgate on the SR5 package, it usually had the word "SR5" printed next to the TOYOTA logo.

My 1993 toyota 4x4 DLX extended cab, I do have a tach, no clock, AC, and 60/40 bench.

I think the DLX did have a tach with different trim levels.

You'll find this website helpful:

http://www.toyotareference.com/truck

Look at the brochure for the 1991 model year. You can view it without paying, it's a little difficult with the silly mouse scroll but doable. Has everything you need to ever know about the differences in the models.

Also, you gotta look at some of those old commercials. Some of them are outright ridiculous! I love how the selling point in some of the commercials are for the CHROME BUMPERS! I mean, that's why we all bought these trucks right?!?

Thanks for the link gamefreak, it was an awesome read. All this time, I never knew the trucks had a security option, and with a motion sensor for cryin out loud. Also, I didn't know rear bumpers were optional, which explains a lot of what I've seen before.

My 87 4Runner SR5 has the fly windows. Don't know if that counts though since its not a pickup.

Also, there were more options and ways to customize the trucks/ 4runners after 1990 (new body style)
