Hopefully it's just a couple of seals.

Could you be a little clearer as to where it's leaking?

You may just need some brake cleaner and permatex...

If it is leaking around the mating surface, one option is to snug up the nuts on the studs. Take care you don't snap them off, I think they only take around 19 ft.lb. torque on those. If that does not do it, you'll need to pull the 3rd member out then clean the mating surface and apply some sealant and reinstall the 3rd.

If its leaking from where the 3rd bolts to the axle housing you need a new gasket, so you will have to pull the third and axle shafts to get at it.
I have to do mine

I've never bothered to get a gasket for that flange. All you need is permatex or sealer...

give us a pic from the front of the 3rd where the d-shaft attaches to the pinion flange. Mine is leaving drips like that do to a bad pinion seal, but hard to tell from the back picture.

Yeah I've heard it called both, and it is easy since I had to do it once allready about 4 years ago.
