I just wanted to get some second opinions as to which would be better in the long run for my 90 4runner. Currently im running 1.5 inch RB balljoint spacers manual hubs and a 1 inch diff drop to lower the angles on my CV's.
I was told by steve at sonoran steel that there was no way i could run a ifs truss and keep the diff drop. I was wondering what you guys would do... keep the diff drop and forget the truss, or loose the diff drop and beef up the front end.

Why not make your own custom truss, can't be that difficult.

ss is correct, it may be cheaper to replace your cv shafts than trying to straighten out your front suspension should you spread it on the rocks. i have one of the first batch of trusses ss produced and have given it a very good work out. it does exactly what ss says it will, keep your front end together.

most places offer some sort of 'warranty' on the cv shafts so if you break one, its the time to r&r it that costs.

if u have manual hubs i see no need for the diff. drop, because if you unlock the hubs the cvs wont be turning under regular driving. go with the ifs truss

Think of it this way. You can drive and wheel with torn cv boots (I've gone over a year with one of them torn, with manual hubs of course). Now that may be a different story with a bent frame or crushed diff.

I just removed my diff drop to put the truss on. I also lowered the t bars and got an alignment.

My CV angle looks good now and the truss makes more sense than the diff drop.

Anyone looking for a diff drop?

Like posted above, why not modify the truss to work with the diff drop. That is my plan!
