I think there's a thread on TTORA about a guy who was selling a Pickup with a 5.9L Cummins in it. I'll see if I can find it.
-edit- I lied. It's actually a 4BT, but here's the link: http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/c...ct=9505&cat=13
I also think there's another one floating around on the internet with some under hood shots.

I know. Cummins is great, but I dunno about those Mopars ... I'd drop in a Duramax,or a Catarpilar diesel myself, but what ever works for you. And yer right, yotas are GENERALLY, and I say that very GENERALLY, lacking in the Horsepower department, and torque. If I could actually tow something with my 4Runner, after all it is an SUV, then i would be happy. Yota's got reliable motors though.

22RE IS THE BEST MOTOR EVER MADE..................Cummins, are you kidding? Although I have never drove a Toyota Diesel so I could not compare. I guess if you want a diesel you don't have much to choose from in North America. I think the 4BT would be good.
I think I would go with a CAT if I was really going to spend some time and money on such a waste of time project.

Hello you missed it CUMMINS ISNT MOPAR. do you really think that Frieghtliner, Peterbuilt, Mack, or Kennworth would defile a truck in such a way as to put a MOPAR motor in it NOOOOOO.
Oh and dude you missed a diesel in the best list DETROIT.
but heres the break down unfortunately Detroit only makes REALLY big engines. Cat makes engines small and large but only larger ones for truck or auto applications. Cummins is the only one that makes a decent sized already certified diesel for auto and truck that is small enough to fit in our trucks
oh btw isuzu diesels arent bad just as long as they are real isuzu not GM CRAP isuzu.

Actually with regard to smaller engines, Cummins is the definate way to go. For starter is the cost is about 1/2 that of cat. Secondly try to find a cat under 6 litres.
And you know this because you've owned how many of the mentioned diesels? None?
We happen to own a '98 ISB cummins, '94 Chevy 6.5LTD, and a '06 Powerstroke 6.0. As far as power is concerned, mod for mod the powerstroke wins. As far as ease to get the trucks to run sub 14 second 1/4 mile times, again the F250 wins with less than 700 needing to be spent.
Also you might do some more research before making idiotic statments like above. Navistar (maker of the powerstroke) is one of the biggest and most respected names in the diesel market. The same goes for the Isuzu made Duramax. Which btw has taken out a LOT of the old records held by Cummins powered trucks....
