Deceleration Sensor Placement Direction?

I took the center cover off of my lower dash assy. on my 1990 SR5 4x4 and I just glanced at the sensor for the rear wheel ABS. There is very small blue printing with arrows and the wording "horizontal" and also "front" & "rear" on the body sides of the sensor. The "Front" wording is actually pointing towards the rear of the vehicle yet it looks as though this has never been removed from the bracket.
Can anyone confirm the correct direction for the placement of this sensor?
Thanx,
Bud
