so after about a month of having just the bed done I finally had some time to remove the rest. I started running short of time so I still need to buff it out really good but it still looks good for now. I decided to keep the decals on the door and see how I like before I take them off. (I kinda like the look) I also put the canopy back on…it looks 100% better imo. what you guys think?

That looks good like that.... I took mine off (decals) due to body damage on one side... before I got it. Buffing helped blend it in after taking the decals off..

i dunno if it's just me because i'm colorblind, but i don't see any difference in the decals from the before and after pics...

i've tried removing decals on past toyota and it is not the easiest thing to do and definitely leaves a color difference. i did mine with a heat gun but if i were to try it again i would definitely use a steamer instead and maybe try one of those decal removing rubber wheels for a buffer/grinder on the more difficult sections.

Mine were brittle after 21 years. After varios checmicals and finger strength I finally decided to use a hair dryer on high and keep it an inch from the decal ata an angle and I was able to peel it as I walked the hair dryer along. Heat...peal...move...heat...peal...move...repeat! Worked like a Charm!

A heat gun could damage the paint if not careful. A blow dryer is sufficient. I removed factory decals from my 87 before the paint job and a blow dryer on high was perfect.

thats pretty much what i did. if you pull at just the right angle the resin comes right off with the decal..and trust me going slo and doing it right the first time will save you twice the time later in getting it off.

Oh yeah, its looks good too... I like the canopy. I wish it was easier to find nice canopies for my year.

i was washing my truck one day after a day in the mud and i use a pressure washer, i was like i dont like these decals and got closser and pressure washed them right off but it left the sticky stuff. i was also thinking about getting one of them rubber wheels.

You might want to try a solvent, like goof off.... then a buffing to blend it all together...

i used goof off but make sure you have a good clear coat. then best thing todo after that is wash then clay bar(well worth it) it gets all the smaller stuff off then wax.

3m makes an "adhesive, wax and mark remover" that works excellent on vehicles. Similar to goof off but made specifically for use on vehicles. I've used it for removing decals and emblem tape. blow dryer to peel off Decal and then remover to clear residue is the safest way, works good too.

You can use starting fluid to remove the glue residue . Just use a plastic razor blade or something similar to scrap the glue off after it softens. It is not as bad on the paint as stronger cleaners .
