CVshaft quick change
Well the the spindle bushing started driving me crazy in the last big snow, grinding like all. So decided to give the spindle lubricator a try https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...ctures-100327/ I decided to on the pvc version. Glues drying now and I'm waiting on the sun to warm up the other side of the house.
Thought since I need to pullthe hub offto lube might as well try quick change CV shaft. When I put the front axle in I pressed the studs out that hold the CV shaft to it. Dang after all I paid like $30 for the hardened bolts to replace the studs. Can't realy comment on the time involved as I usually spend a couple hours searching for various tools to speed things up, after all I only have a car port and 2 sheds plus the back of my truck.
So far the most difficult part has been the cone washers, but a generous amount of penetrating oil and a round point awl made short work of them. Well maybe thats inaccurate, shorter is better. The snap ring also comes off easier if you can see them, those energy saver bulbs suck for droplights in cold temps. The snow we got yesterday cut my work shortbut the axle shaft did come out pretty easy once I got the angle lined up just right and held my mouth in the correct position. Well time to quit crowing about my 1/2 finish project and time to get back at it. Looks like the sun is just right and I bet you guys would rather have pics over my long windedness. Will finish later, well hopefully.

The 1" jobby fit great but moly fortified grease gets thicker than peanut butter in the cold and would not pump in like it was suppose to, oh well. The bolt replacements for the ifs axle studs are great I'd recommend it to any one, simply pulled the shaft again and lubed it the manual way. Got a few pics but will have to add later. Pulled passenger side hub looks like mud for bearing grease. Good times.

best time when changing a cv is 2 jacks one under the side cv your working one on opposite rear... dont have to take shock off... i have no sway bar..
made it under 45 minutes...
