cv shaft replace or not

I am in the process of istalling 4.88s in my pickup its got the basic 4 inch lift. Im wondering if while I have everything apart if I should go ahead and spend the money new shafts or if I would be better off leaving the old ones in there the boots look good and Ive never had a problem with them before I believe they are factory parts. Just running low on funds and the extra 140 or so could be spent elsewhere.

hm, if the boots havent worn down from the 4inch lift. Then they should be fine.

Yeah, as long as the boots arent cracking or have that old rubber texture to them you should be fine. Do you have manual hubs to?

yup... if it isn't broke don't fix it... unless you have the coinage.
in general, if the boots aren't compromised / squirting grease, and it's not clicking, grumbling or vibrating, the joint is fine.

Plus, if you do want to change them, just rebuild them. Probable cost 40$ for both sides, all you need is cv grease, new boots, and alot of towels.

If you are going to rebuild, Downey makes neoprene boots that supposedly will take more angle without ripping.

I have no experience with them, but have thought about picking up two sets.
