I got this one from www.performanceproducts.com a couple of years ago. The original grille was broken when I got my truck.
I think it cost around $100.00 which was about the same as a new replacement. Some of the paint is peeling off the fins, I need to paint the whole truck.

After much pondering, I snagged a piece of expanded metal and painted it black, took my dremel and cut out all the center crap. I notched all the gusseting that was used to reinforce the center section so I was able to slip the metal in place without the need for any screws or zap-straps. I was quite satisfied with the end result cosmetically and if anything, I gained a considerable amount of airflow.. Again, excuse the fact its a '93..

ya clean rig ^ when i painted my truck i removed the emblem and painted it the same yellow as the truck. while it was off i painted the grill gloss black..... i am quite impressed with the looks (forgot you said 89 91 mines a 93 )

that expanded metal look good ! Sorry I should have said 89-94 pickups, mind starts playing tricks on ya when you get older lol.
JD that is one clean looking truck, and how thick is that expanded metal ? I may have to try and find a piece of that for mine.

The expanded I used was definitely not a heavier gauge.. maybe 3/32nd's at most in thickness? The slots are 7/8" x 1/4" at the widest points.. That being said, I'm not quite sure how/what they classify/call the different gauges so I hope that helps.

I dont know if this is possible, but has anyone ever tried using the 95 tacoma grill? I dunno how it would turn out, if at all, but it would look really unique
