CreswellRunner's 4runner Thread
This is my first post, I've been lurking for a couple months and finally got a 4runner last week!
It's a 1987 22re Sr5 5-speed. 210K on the Body I think... The odometer is broken so just going off the PO.
Let me know what you guys think!

Yeah man I agree that thing is tits! I am a fan of the older models. As long as it runs good I wouldn't worry about the mileage, every ride can and needs to be fixed/maintained at some point in it's life. I am fairly new myself but welcome.

Thanks guys! I'm really excited about the new rig and I cant wait to make it my own, the PO didn't know too many details but as far as i can tell its got 1, maybe 2 inches of body lift. It may also have the torsion bars cranked, but i dont know how to check. Any suggestions?

Look at the CV Half Shaft angle, if they are pointing upward from Axle(tire) to Differential, torsion bars are cranked. If they are level, torsion bar isnt cranked.
See in picture, how the picture, the angle of the CV shaft is pointing upward from tire to center of truck.

On a different note, I recently purchased a 1200w constant/2400w peak inverter for my 4runner. I wanted a location that was well ventilated, yet still out of sight. These two requirements seemed to contradict each other, until my buddy thought to mount the inverter on the door of my rear cabinet, instead of inside of it.
As I will only be using it while stopped, the ventilation will be perfect, I also put nuts between the wood and the inverter in the hopes of keeping it even cooler. Unfortunately, the biggest wire I had was 8 gauge, so I will be ordering some #4 along with an 80 amp fuse soon. Let me know what you think!

My first mod 9 years ago was taking the top off the day I bought it.

Yeah Philbert, when I put my new h4's in I left the headlight covers off. And northbend, if there's a black bumper shortage down here, a road trip might be worth it!
