Bought a '95 Ford Probe with 225k miles for $1000. Runs great. Feels like I'm driving a damn formula one next to the truck!

Sounds good, I still have the 95 Taurus I bought to drive during my swap. It has a little coolant leak again though. I'm always fixing something on it but at least the headgaskets are holding. It has cast iron heads (a good match for a cast iron block IMHO) and a timing chain so it may go for a long time. It gets 30 mpg on the highway with a tailwind LOL. Plus it may be a classic in 50 years

That's funny! I always wanted one of the Taurus SHOs with the Yamaha 5 valve/cylinder engine. Kickass engine.

FYI to all: I've found an engine to replace the one currently in my truck; refer to the followup thread:

I have indications of water in the oil, but little, if any loss of coolant, or oil in radiator. I sent my oil to Blackstone Labs for analysis and they confirmed glycol in the oil and metals associated with bearing wear. Given that the motor has close to 180K mi. on it and the history of bearing wear with the motor, I decided to do a rebuild on the motor. I can't see going to this level of work and not taking care of old main seal or having premature failure because I didn't mill the block. While I can't afford to swap to another motor, I want to rebuild it prior to crankshaft or other damage.

I was very pleased with the service that Blackstone provided and the insight the test gave me. For a little over 20 bucks, I feel fairly confident that now is a good time to pull my motor...

IMHO

Chris

Do you mean the valve timing or the distributor timing?

They are at www.putfile.com; it says they are undergoing maintenance right now. I had this problem last month, sent them an email, & they showed up again. I've had pics on there for years...hope they get it cleared up soon...

Bummer, hope they get their act together. I've never had a problem with Webshots, except their ads get in my way sometimes.
