Unhappy Crankshaft pulley and key issues

so heres my deal. a while back, all the belts on my 88 4runner 6cyl with 200000 miles broke off from old age. i replaced them and must have tightened them too much and my crankshaft pulley/harmonic balancer broke off the next day while driving. the key (i think thats what its called), cracked in half, caused the pulley to spin freely and loosened the bolt, which fell out on the road (im assuming because it was gone) but the pulley stayed. so now im stuck with half this damn key still in the crankshaft and i have no idea how im gonna get it out. i took off the radiator so i could get at it, then tried drilling a small hole into it, put a screw in that hole and tried prying it out. it wont budge. im wondering if anyone has had this problem, or can tell me what to do. im kindof noob at this stuff but i love this truck. i can get a picture if thats confusing.

You will need to upload your picture onto the net so we can see it.

I use photobucket.com

Have you tried using a hammer to pound the key out?

The key goes into the timing belt pulley also, as you can see, which is probably holding it in securely. You will likely have to remove the timing belt and the belt's crank pulley. The key will come right off then and you can replace it. The dealer can get you a new key. Don't ding up the front of the key or you will have trouble getting the Tbelt pulley off.

I was hoping it wouldn't come to that. Oh well. Thanks for your help.
