I recently replaced the head gaskets, water pump, timing belt and pulleys, and a number of other things on my 93 pickup with the 3vze. Yesterday, I walked up to my truck in the parking lot and saw a nice puddle of coolant underneath it. It looked like a steady drip so I topped the rad off with water and drove home.
The timing for this is horrible as I am trying to drive about 100 miles tomorrow...

Today I kind of pinpointed the leak. The coolant is accumulating underneath the oil pump on that ledge on the front of the oil pan and then dripping from there onto the ground. It is a pretty constant drip one about every second. It seems to leak more once the engine is turned off.

I cleaned around the leak area as well as I could and it looks like the leak might be coming from the water pump gasket on the thermostat side. I tried to take a picture but it was too dark.

I can't imagine the gasket went bad this quickly but I cannot think of another area that it would be leaking... Am I missing something?

Also, I did not use an Aisin water pump, so I am wondering is this is a symptom of a bad water pump?

And yes I have searched the forum for answers.
Any help is appreciated.

It could be coming out of the weep hole, which usually is the case with aftermarket pumps. Unfortunately, your best bet is to pull the timing covers off, and pressure test it to see where the leak is coming from.

Ya I figure I'll have to tear it down to learn more just figured I'd check before digging into it. Where/what is this weep hole?
