Coolant change on a 1993 22R-E . . .

So I'm going to do a coolant flush on my sorely neglected 1993 2wd with the 22R-E.

Any tips or recommendations? I've done brake jobs, oil changes, spark plugs on a ls1 v8 camaro(PITA!!!!), stereo installs, but never really worked on the cooling systems.

I've read about how you have to run it with water after you drained the coolant, then drain and run some more water through it. I plan to add some Prestone radiator flush after I drain the coolant, god knows the last time it was changed.

So should I use the flushing chemicals or not? How many cycles should I run water through it? Is tap water okay?(its municapal water where I live, its not hard, rusty or otherwise funky).

Drain. Fill with distilled. Run. Drain. Fill with distilled. Repeat until it looks like only water, then add antifreeze to make 50 to 60 percent concentration. Only use distilled water and make sure heaters are on so you get the coolant from the cores. make sure engine is fully warmed between flushes.
