Computer sticker question......?!?
Ok so I'm pulling the interior out of my 86 runner cleaning up wiring and sound deading and such when I noticed that my ecu is marked 22r.............I have a 22re......
on my 93' my ecu is marked 22re and is in fact a 22re truck so I guess my question is: On the older models are the ecu's all just marked 22r? even if the truck is a 22re?

What kind of "custom" work have you found on your 86 4Runner ?, when i got my 86 4Runner it was full of "custom" work that i had to go through and corectly fix, repair or replace to make it right.

lets see........
4 sections of wire crimped (poorly) together to make a 2-3ft piece of wire, randomly cut wires to the alarm, flares that stuck out 3" past the tires, random pieces of wire under the carpet and pad which are bolted down but connected to nothing, headliner in the rear made out of sleeping foam covered with gray foam (it was falling down), drivers side timing chain was not put on, pits in the camshaft, crappy as pistons and rods, this was on a motor that had 15k miles........all sorts of random ass crap, bull bar that was bolt just to the thin metal bumper, bully steps for a basically stock height truck lol.

Ive run into a couple of things as well, when i got my 4Runner you couldn`t start it with a key, you would turn the ignition on with the key and push a button to start it, the reason for this is the electrical part of the ignition switch went bad so instead of just replacing it they rigged a push button switch off the starter. The other thing was the oil pump, i guess there was an oil leak at the crank seal, so instead of replacing the seal they wrapped some string around the crank shaft and put the balancer back on, maybe it worked for a while, i don`t know, either wayit was a half @zz fix because the string worked its way into the oil pump and ruined it and the spline gear.
I see in your signature that you have a 21/4 flowmaster exhaust, and thats exactly what im putting on my 4Runner with a Downey header, did you notice any performance gains with it ?.
(My signature picture is my 4Runner, its almost done)
