computer issues blown fuses
Had a short in the wiring. 87 4runner shut down found it fixed it still wouldn't start. EFI Fuse would pop instantly. I have a dead 89 so I threw in the computer on a long shot replaced the fuse and it runs again. Unfortunately it throws o2 code and knock sensor and lacks a little power now. I did research but have a few more questions. Anybody had this problem have an easy fix inside the computer. Know where I can get the computer rebuilt? From what I read the newer o2s were a four wire so it doesn't sound that it's worth my time to rewire or it may be dang near impossible for me. I also have an 87 turbo truck with a blown motor and different numbers on the computer but figured it would do the same thing, may try it tomorrow. Found one for sale roughly 80 dollars. Any positive input would be appreciated thanks.

The 89 computer wont work in your 87 truck, because the injectors and 02 sensors are different. The same goes for the 87 turbo computer, its tuned totally different for the turbo. Buy the correct computer for your truck to avoid any problems.

Ya am in the process of the purchase I read all up on how some people say newer ones work fine and I guarantee that is false definetely a lack of power but at least it let me know my computer did get toasted. Wish I could tell which circuit is toasted even took the thing apart but no obvious problem so gonna leave well enough alone and not screw up my 4runner and order a used one. maybe get the old one rebuilt if I can find somewhere cheap enough.
