Complete front spindle/cv axle swap?
I'm looking to swap over my front hubs/brakes/cv axles from my 86 4Runner to my newly purchased 87 4Runner. Can I simply unbolt the upper/lower ball joints from the control arms, and yank the whole assembly including the cv axles out, and slap it in the other 4runner?
Anything to watch out for?
Thanks

Why? Because I had the factory toyota cv axles rebuilt and the brakes/rotors replaced with genuine toyota parts. Want to swap over all this new stuff (lots of $ spent) to my new truck, which worse/more worn parts on it.
Anyone have any sound technical advice on how to do this?

Cannot get any more sound advise then the FSM, and if you put all those new parts on your truck, why are you looking for advise on how to switch them over?

Unfortunately I don't have the FSM, which is why I'm here. New parts are on old truck w/engine problems ... I want to move them to new truck w/out engine problems, I hope that is clear.

Sweet, thanks! Also looking for some backyard mechanics advice, I'm sure the FSM will have me take everything all apart, but I was wondering if I could pull it out in one unit.

ya just unbolt the ball joints and diff it should all drop once the steering arms are disconnected. my advice would be to just do it and see. even if you did have to disassemble its not bad and still would only take a half hour.
