I just bought a new head and I wanna know if I should use the gasket they gave me, which looks kinda crappy, or should I buy one from toyota? Or, is there one just as good as a toyota replacement for cheaper??? I have no clue. This is the first time I've had to break into the engine, other than the timing chain crap.

Also you need to give it time. You posted your first thread at 5:29 and expected a reply by 6pm. Slow down, give people a chance to respond. At 5:30, im just getting off work, and on the east coast most are going to bed.
AND its mid week, no one wants to deal with Toyota problems.

X2! But I feel your pain. I am throwing out my 3.0 for a 3.4 for the whole reason of head gasket problems. try looking at the threads where peeps are rebuilding an engine. That will go a LOOOONG way - there is tons of info on here about headers, and rebuild engines and who you can trust if you need parts. SEARCH 1st.. and then ask for suggestions second.

I have used a fel pro also, i don't really think that its worth the extra money to go get one from a dealer if you already have one. factory parts are good stuff, but imho it is a little ocd to use NOTHING but toyota stuff. so long as you chase the threads and take your time when you torque it down i am sure you'll be fine.

I have yet to have an issue with any gasket that I've gotten from Ted. To be honest, I've heard quite a few issues with Toyota gaskets as well. I don't think Ted would sell a product he didn't feel was adequate for the job.
