Alright guys, I've got a 93 3.not so slow 4runner auto 4wd yada yada. I've been battling a cold start issue. Thought it was the cold start sensor. Replaced and didn't help. Replaced cold start valve, no bueno. Of course, being the observant individual I am, missed that the coolant sensor is not hooked up and I can't find the wire for her. Cool. I've heard this can cause my problem and if so, does anyone know know where this hook up leads to? Thanks guys, I've found a couple stray wires with no heads so I might be splicing a new head to hook her up.

Wow. Yes, it should be very hard to start without the ECT Sensor, and it would run very badly. Do you think someone carefully disconnected the sensor, then cut off the plug? If it's any help at all, the wires on a '94 are brown w/black and green w/blue.

By the way, you don't have a cold start sensor, nor do you have a cold start valve. I think I can guess what you meant to say, but you've been around long enough to get the vocabulary. If we can understand your question, we might have a good answer.

It runs just fine when its started, its simply a cold start issue. I may have the sensors confused, it appears to be the one out of four closest to the driver side. And I have heard the csi switch and csi called many different things so if you're going to knock my not so exact vocabulary of everything Toyota then please, feel free to pass up this thread and not knock my limited knowledge of the subject. This is why I obviously need help. I believe the vast majority would agree they know what I mean and am asking.
