Junker- How's the softness of the ride? You are missing only ONE picture....the one showing how far off the overload leaf the rest of the pack is.
No noticeable settling I imagine? Those are the factory stock shocks still on there?

Those particular coils are high quality and used by the racing community....settling might take YEARS if any.

Yeah after reading the year++ updates on your site I don't think these are going to settle at all. The ride is outstanding! No more bouncing even with the camper top off.
I'll try to get a picture of that for you but have to replace a stolen camera first. There's a couple of inches between the end of the overload and the spring pack above it, before they were touching and the spring pack was flat.
Those shocks are OEM replacements. The ones I took off were the factory's from 86, I think, and were ruined.

Update check----Been almost 4 weeks....How's the ride now Junker? Have you noticed there seems to be less squeaks from the rear with the full weight no longer on the leafs? I'm gonna hotlink your thread here on the bottom left of my webpage with the other coil installs tonight. You did a nice job of pics and text with your install.

ZUK mod rulz. Still no sag in my '86's rearend and hauling more than I probably should. I'm not even sure how long it's been now since I installed the Jeep coils. Two years, maybe?

Good to know, thook and junkers88. Ya, agrre with strykersd and some pics of it flexed showing the one coil compressed and the other fully extended would be cool....next time you go wheeling maybe. In case I don't get a chance to say this....Merry Christmas to all! Ho ho ho ZUK

I don't have any wheeling pics as I never I get to do such things, but I do have a couple of very recent (two weeks ago) pics of the vehicle at work. I have it loaded completely from front two seats to past the rear and up to the roof.......as you can see. Yet, if you look close enough, because of the coils, the leafs are not even compressed totally flat......OR.....negatively even, as would be the case with a stock set up of this vehicle's age (230k).
She floated around like a boat on the highway, but I kept the speed down to around 45mph and it was fine. And, no.......there was no danger of the load coming loose. I've mastered loading like this (kinda had to
). Ratchet straps and cam locks reign supreme.

Hehe.......yep, that's life with an animal sanctuary. Especially when one lives out in the country and try to make the trips picking up supplies (in this case, donated) count. I had to have all of that stuff out of the building it was in in one day. Took me 10+ hours to dismantle the cage that was. Now it will be a feral cat kennel.
What you don't see is the weight displacement. Under all that lumber.....that is sitting on 2x4 bars set across the top rails of the bed/topper (had the trim pulled off) is a few hundred pounds worth of dry cat/dog food, shelving boards, and jumbo blocks. So, the majority of the weight (including the lumber and what is on the top) is actually centered in the middle of the vehicle between and on the rear axle. Comparitively, the pallets are lighter..........though, not by much...hehe. You can see why I desired the coil mod, no?
