Just curious what others have done for bracing their coilover towers on the front end of trucks/4runners that are running the 3.0L and have NO bodylift. It looks really tight under there and I think I'm going to be able to form a tower brace in there but it's going to be interesting. Would appreciate a pic or two of how folks braced their towers. Mine is specifically a '90 Extracab pickup, also running the GM master cylinder to make it even tighter under the hood...

Could you possibly try and brace it to the firewall? Like maybe shoot from the towers back to the center point of the firewall and both side meet in the middle there.

Such as this? Or some variant?

If you're talking about aftermarket shock hoops, then you should look into engine cages on dezertrangers.com, should give you a few ideas.

If you're talking about the factory shock towers, then I'd say put some triangular gussets on them, if you feel they really need them. Never really took a good look at mine, so I don't really have any ideas for you.

Yeah, referring to coilover and linked suspension. Running Fox 2.0 dual-rate 14" coilovers up front, and am actually thinking something like that picture posted above where it wrap behind the intake. It's mainly just the lateral bracing if I hit something hard, like dropping off a rock or something, so the towers don't bend in and snap/rip off of the frame rails. Kind of just extra bracing for doing stuff like in cr@ves4wheelin avator. Just going to be really tight going through the vacuum crap, around the intake and master cylinder.

mine is a 22re but it might give you an idea. i used ballistic tube clamps on the ends of the crossover above the hoops so it can be removed for engine work. http://www.ballisticfabrication.com/...mp_p_1467.html





problem with bracing it to the firewall or any part of the cab like that is that over time it will cause the firewall to rip or tear apart. the cab and chassis will constantly be moving in separate directions unless the cab is solid mounted to the frame. most people dont so that unless they are fully caged.
