Coding like a madman

Sup guys
Title is more dramatic than the situation

Read my codes the other day and got handed a
13
21
52

21 is O2 sensor and an easy fix I'm assuming?
13 and 52 are related as well right? Knock Sensor?

Question here is that I am trusting the sensor on this one because I feel like my engine is in fact knocking. I guess I don't have a really clear understanding of what "knocking" is classified as. I think thats my question.

How do I know independent from the light that my engine is knocking?
Is it that ominous tick-tick-tick-ticking that is in sync with my acceleration?
It is also synced to the intensity of acceleration. Its a 5spd and if I am in the lower rpm range of any gear under heavy accel, very loud tick-tick-ticking. When I let off the gas to slight coast the ticking backs off to a silence.

What am I hunting for guys? Thanks

Cale

Do you have a 3.0 or a 2.4?

Heavy knocking (pinging) is very hard on an engine and needs to get fixed. The knock sensor retards timing when knocking is detected to prevent damage and it sounds like yours isn't working. Check the ignition timing and make sure it is set to specs. Knock sensors are expensive so use the FSM to check the wiring before replacing the sensor. The wires from the O2 sensor often burn on the exhaust pipe and short out. I'd replace the O2 sensor and make sure the wires are securely held away from the hot pipe.

its a 2.4. I will admit that I have added the MSD Blaster 2 coil without any other ignition improvements. Related? Also, what are my ping culprits to focus on if the pinging is real?
