Ok i have a 89 pickup with a 22re i put a header on it awhile back and now its throwing code 25 and 26...ive changed the water temp sensor and o2 sensor and its still coming up any help?

See if there are any leaks around the gaskets....at the manifold and pipe. They can come loose after a bit of use from expansion and contraction.

Hang on to those old parts. They're probably still good. Make convenient back ups. I like to do that, anyway.

would that have to do with those codes its a rich lean code so??

If air is getting into the exhaust prior to the 02 sensor, it will pick up on that as and incorrect exhaust gas mix and throw a code. In turn, the ECU will be constantly richening or leaning the fuel mix to compensate for the what the sensor is telling it. Not to mention, air can get sucked up into the head and possibly damage a valve....depends on how bad it is, though.

Take a long rubber hose and put one end to your ear and listen around the header and pipe connections for any hissing.

You may not have any leaks, but it's good place to start.

also, your intake boot must not be cracked or have any gaps/holes, etc.

did you keep 0EM parts.
i bought a brand new cts (coolant temp sensor) from a auto store, only to find out it was faulty right out of the box,

3 days later, and every wire mapped (from ECU to injector harness) only to find the brand new sensor was indeed junk.

went to the dealer, and 30 minutes later, fired up, no problems since.

Check to make sure none of the wires are melted, or touching the headers. Make sure you put the header gasket on right, and tight. Maybe look into sheilding important stuff (starter, sensors, etc) from the heat of the headers. While it is true that headers reduce underhood temps, they generally radiate a larger amount of heat within a short distance than stock mainifold.

thanx u guys im gona give it a try and hopfully it will work....and another thing is i have the idle control valve bypassed it was a bad valve and had to bypass for the mean time....would that be throwing the codes?
