I have a 86 4x4 truck with a 22re and when I jump the timing connector my timing does not change? I checked it for codes and found a code 11 from reading this points to the tps or the computer. Would this code keep it from changing time when I jump the connector?

1986 22re code 11-- Throttle switch signal to Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is OFF during diagnostic check-- Defective TPS circuit, TPS, or ECU.

I found my answer on 4crawlers website. The code 11 keeps the timing from changing when you jump the connector but it doesent matter now the headgasket blew(water in oil) so I will be rebuilding the motor next week. It has 260,xxx miles so its time.
