Clutch replacement now no 5th gear.....
New here. Always wanted a toyota pickup, and now I have a 1991 3.0 5 speed.
I replaced the clutch and lost 5th gear.
Replaced the shifter bushings, no luck.
I have read of others having the same issue, but never any resolution on how to fix it, or what is wrong with it.
Any help would be appreciated.

I figured it wasn't related directly to the clutch.
I pulled the shifter 3 times trying to adjust its position when bolted down, but never made a difference.

I agree that it is something I did....but the only things I did were the shifter bushings and the clutch, haha.
I have removed the shifter several times to make sure it was re-installed properly and all of the other gears work fine, including reverse. (leading me to believe it is not a clutch issue).
I am just looking for ideas on what i am missing.
Thanks!

On a 22r tranny, I have put the rear end on jack stands and then with the shifter stick out, have manually shifted the tranny with a large screw driver. I am guessing a 3.0 tranny is the same. When shifting it with a tool that will work for you, you will need to slide the shifting assemblies to the drivers side to find 5th is the best that I can explain it. Up and Down would be the same, oppisite of the shifter its self.
1st gear would be on the passenger side and 5th would be on drivers side. The shifter tilts basically and moves the assembly oppisite of the shifter. It would at least let you know if 5th is actually working and may be it is the stick not seated correctly.
