Had a prob with clutch a few months ago that turned out to be the rubber hose had a small leak and sucking air. Replaced that with a new one, bled, and good to go.

Now Im having a different one. Basically now the clutch is not coming back up at random. Bled the lines again and still having the problem so thinking its not air in the line issue (kinda).

Here is whats done.

Bracket is checked- no cracks
Lines bled.
No fluid around the master and no fluid inside the firewall
Fluid is not low nor was it low. I also did not let it get low to suck air during the bleed.

I have an idea that I'll have to replace the slave or the master but trying for a long shot to see if someones knows which one, rather then throw parts at it.

A specific issue that repeats itself is the way the pedal acts when I hold it down. Pressure is normally good cept in those random times. However, if I hold the pedal down for 5-7 seconds, let it up, it comes up about half way, then I can watch it slowly go back to the floor without touching it. Pull it back up by hand and the pressure is still good. Anybody know which part that condition is usually related to? Master or Slave?

I just kinda like knowing which parts need replaced based on the way things act. Figure somebody else may run into this prob down the road as well and might like to find an answer.

Basically the same issue as above, but just for giggles- Also had my wife push the clutch while I got under the vehicle to watch the rod push the fork on the tranny. As she held the pedal down, I could see the rod/piston losing pressure and going back like she was releasing the pedal (even though she was still holding it down) Hope that made sense.

checked to see if firewall around clutch bracket is cracked

Thanks. I checked that as well and there are no cracks in the firewall area, inside or in the engine bay.

No fluid around slave or around MC that I can see. Rather then the 5-10 seconds yesterdayt, this morning it takes about 30 seconds of me holding the pedal down for it start to lose pressure, pull my foot off and have it only come up about half way and then slowly sink back to the floor without touching anything.

Its the master. 94.3% sure. I had the same problem. The pedal would stay on the floor abd not go into gear. People said it was the spring, bracket, etc. But the master is what it was.

Master is what it seemed to be. Not sure what about the master was causing it to act the way it was, but figured it would be nice to narrow it down between the master or slave.

Basically I had an extra used master so I tried that first. The original one had no signs of leaking but once I replaced it out, it seemed to reslove the issue (although the used one that is currently installed looks like it as a small leak once I pulled it off the parts car.) Still see how long it lasts. When that one bites the dust, then I'll replace it and the slave with new parts.

Right on. Glad that was it. I dont know much about the intrnals on the master cylinder but i guess they dont have to leak externally but the seals inside can leak so it doesnt hold presser very long.

I dont know about the internals either. Must be a seal that wasnt able to hold the pressure very long. I only know when a clutch pedal has probs, it could be one or more of "these" specific things. Was trying to narrow it down for giggles.
