hi all!

i did the 1" b.l. from 4crawler (which was super easy with just a floor jack and a helper) and now i'm noticing a clunk sometimes when i let out the clutch. not all the time, just sometimes. fluid level looks ok. i haven't made time to do a rebleed since it's been awesome bike weather so the truck's been sitting, but figured i'd ask here for some opinions on what else to investigate.

hermm....did you unhook the hose? shouldent have to reblead and i wouldent think that the clunk would be tied to the BL maybe a driveline issue?? just doesent seem like it should be tied to the BL

"Wires and ground straps should be examined for tightness, while lifting. If wires are pulled tight, see if they are clamped at one end or the other, if so, either remove or relocate the clamp if possible. If ground straps are tight, see if one end or the other can be moved, if not, replace the strap with a longer part. Braided copper ground straps are available at most auto parts stores. On Tacoma and 3rd Gen 4Runner, the wires to the fuel tank level sender unit may need to be relocated or lengthened. Wiring is not included in the kit.

After installing a body lift, keep an eye out for new leaks from hoses that are pulled too tight, or for electrical problems that may be related to missing grounds or connectors that pulled apart. Examples may be turn signals that either do not flash or flash too fast, or gas gauge that doesn't not work (connector is usually on top of the gas tank w/ wires running up to the body), or 4WD or backup lights that do not come on, etc. Other issues that may arise are new noises. They may be present due to some component making contact with something else due to the lift. Examples are the steering column penetration in the firewall, the hole may need to be enlarged or the penetration plate relocated. You may also just be hearing a difference due to the additional space around the drivetrain. With more space, there may be a new resonance that was not present before. You may be able to apply some sound deadening material to quiet things down if needed."

this clunk is right when i let off the clutch, like its hanging up somehow. i will rebleed and see how it is afterward. it makes no sense. it's just 1".

Does it shift poorly or just make noise?

Is your slave cylinder loose? Clutch pedal loose? Motor mounts? T mount? Lots of possibilities that are coincedental to you doing a 1" body lift and you just notice it now.

Typically "clunks" are driveshaft related.

x2 on the driveshaft... wiggle her around a wee bit and see if the U joints have failed

i dont have a body lift, but i have that same clunk when i let out the clutch...

its the u-joints... they are shot... go here and get a new one...
