Clogged Catalytic Converter?
Recently posted a thread because I am having slight engine lope at idle and cant seem to figure out how to smooth it out. Could a clogged catalytic converter be to blame? I have been getting trouble codes 2-5, 2-6, and 7-1 (engine running lean, engine running rich, and egr exhaust temp not within specified range.....whatever that means) I have a new O2 sensor, plugs-wires-cap -rotor, and air filter. Thought maybe raising the idle would help smooth out the idle, but i know that would only mask the problem. I cant seem to raise the idle rpms any higher than 750rpm and thats with the idle adjust screw all the way out. Why won't it go any higher? All together the truck runs good when driving down the road just sitting at idle at a light and the truck shimmys and shakes. Nothing crazy though, thought maybe the coolant temp sensor was to blame but maybe it is the catlalytic converter? Looking for any kind of help.

Speaking of cats I think mine is the original...could that explain a lack in power upon acceleration and bad mileage? I'm getting 400km/tank avg 500km if mostly hwy. I had wacky idle and stumble then I cleaned the crap out of my batt. cables and terminal and good to go...I didn't realize how layered with crap they were...simple yet effective.

thats sounds a little low for a 22re, try unbolting the cat and driving around, if it cures the problems then switch to a magnaflow they are only like 90 bucks
