Levis Pennae

I was wondering how much of a pain it would be to install an FJ Cruiser Inclinometer in a 1st Gen. 4runner? I know it wouldn't be plug and play, and that there will be quite a bit of custom wiring and routing of sensors. I just want to know if it is possible without the FJ wire harness and computer.

one thing that first lick says that the gauge is 499, while the 2nd link says that from toyota its only 390!!! but i think all you would need to do is tap the lights harness for lighting and the add a sensor for the temp( a part i am sure you can acquire from toyota or junkyard)

not sure, but if the incline/tilt meter is a float style i'm sure you would just need a power wire and temp sending unit. should be pretty straight forward.

You can find a bunch of those in the old Mitsubishi Raiders for 5 bucks at the Pick n Pull. I got one. It doesn't look as good but it will work and can be mounted where you want really.

but it doesnt have a direction thingy, time teller or outside temp guage.. and its not toyota... shame on you se7enine..

True that, but if I take it apart and put it back together in my dash then it becomes Toyota, No???? Worth a shot.

id just leave it in the montero/raider and sport that. I love those things.. it was between a '91 monte and a '90 4runner when I was hunting for a new rig..... obviously the 4runner won, but mostly because the guy with the monte sold it wile i was on my way to his house.. oh well, guess it was a sign..

by the way levis, you need to get that FJ gauge and throw it in you rig, that would be awesome!!

Gotta say I'd feel right at home with one of those Artificial Horizon style clinometers in my dash... if only they were'nt surrounded by all those other things I don't need lol... IK suzuki (I think) had a stand-alone AI type clinometer but they are impossible to find around here and are big and clunky anyway...

The main reason I want to do the FJ gauge thingy is that it has everything I wanted to put in there in one convenient package and the FJ Cruiser icon is pretty similar to a 1st Gen. 4Runner. Also I'm not the pick-and-pull type, I like putting fresh parts in my 'Yota .

I do like that the color is a near perfect match (from the pic) to the Beige interior of my 4Runner.

You can always take the horizon out and ditch the other gauges. That's what I plan to do.

I was thinking that myself se7 but I was'nt sure how big the whole thing was.
You don't happen to have measurements and a side shot do you?

If it's small enough I'm wondering if you could MacGuyver it into one of those A-pillar pods.

It's kinda bulky, it measures 2 3/4" x 3" and is 2" deep
